Historical Picture of the Day- Stock Market Crash October 29, 1929.

The "Great Crash of '29" is the cause of the current economic model of western civilization, in some respect (Keynesian). Over-speculation and crony capitalism convinced investors to withdraw, and banking to seize investments and go bankrupt. This was the time before the FDIC was installed into the banking infrastructure! Meaning, if you had money in a bank account, you were not guaranteed repayment if your financial institution went bankrupt. This caused many to panic, which further exacerbated the panic that eventually led into the Great Depression. In the above picture, a man sweeps the floor of the New York Stock Exchange after the initial day of the Stock Market Crash on October 29, 1929.
