        This day in history, October 14, 1933, Adolf Hitler declares the declaration of withdrawal of Nazi Germany from The League of Nations. This same year, Hitler was named Chancellor of Germany, and set about his schemes for German reunification and autonomy, in what he believed to be necessary for the establishment of the Third Reich. In this picture, he addresses through radio, the new Germany and his justification for ordering the withdrawal from The League of Nations. Nations from around the world listened intently, however, and were still under the spell of appeasement that allowed Germany and Hitler to rise to power in the first place.
