The Defining Moment of Our Time: The 2016 Presidential Elections- A Commentary.
Less than a month away from the 2016 Presidential Election, more of the debatable issues are about the character of the candidates, and not that of the real issues our nation faces, nor where the two prominent candidates themselves stand on those real issues. In this commentary, I will discuss my opinion as a history and geopolitical student, and who I believe will win the election, and who I think based on evidence and history, would be more beneficial to our country as commander-in-chief. I am neither a Republican nor Democrat, rather a normal man with reason and logic behind my assumptions. Therefore, it must be said I do not base my assumptions according to political partisanship, as both major political parties have shown recently that they no longer serve the best interest for the common man; rather, my assumptions are behind logic and common sense, a topic Thomas Paine was famous for being accredited with when his written work was published in 1776. It is something that seems to have vanished in modern times. However, there stands a pillar among fences; and, that pillar is Donald Trump.
Donald Trump needs no introduction, for he himself has achieved much in the greatness of the American dream. The old cliche that the truth hurts is very much true. People cringe when Trump speaks aloud, or rather thinks aloud as some would point out, yet it is true what he says about our current economy and political moral fiber, and that hurts people because it is painful to truly see what the United States has become in recent years. In fact, the current state of the union is so disastrous that there aren't too many positive things to talk about, and many aspects that need to be addressed. Opponents more often than not compare Trump to Hitler, pointing out that he would become a dictator if elected President; however, I do not envision this. Trump, to me at least, would be a President that inspires Americans and allies alike, exactly as a President should be. He has no political ties, and is therefore not bound to support policies he is actually against for the sake of party loyalty, as Hillary is. He is a successful business man, and has failed many times in order to achieve success. Isn't that what life is about? Learning from our mistakes to gain wisdom?
On the other hand is foreign policy. In recent years our government has extended the olive branch too many times, almost in a passive policy of appeasement. Need I remind the reader that appeasement was the initiator for Hitler's rise to power? So, too, has President Obama appeased the aggressors from around the world- Iran, ISIS, North Korea, Russia and China. Donald Trump's "America First" policy comes at a time when it is needed most, before our nation passes the critical point of no return. "Make America Great Again" is Trump's slogan. Everything he advocates for is for the benefit of America- through trade, taxation, foreign policy, militarily- and to inspire ALL Americans to put forth their best effort and achieve success, through failure, of the American dream.
Hillary Clinton has shown over the years what she advocates for, an exact carbon copy of President Obama, albeit in female form. There are policies related to the Democrat Party that I agree with. For example, I agree with raising the minimum wage in relation to rising inflation, lowering the cost of college tuition nationwide, minority civil rights etc... Nevertheless, the hidden agenda behind these domestic policy issues are not meant to serve the common man/woman's best interest. Hillary is a career politician, serving her special interests needs more than the American people. She is a financier for Wall Street! She intends to wage war with Russia, all the while serving China's best interest with her hand behind her back, and allowing the Middle East quagmire to eventually spill over into Europe first, and then onto America's shores. The truth hurts, and the truth is Hillary has only gotten this far because she is a female Democrat, falsely appealing to the masses best interests. There are other ways in which to inspire women and minorities alike, rather than support a hidden agenda that only shifts the civil rights burden onto white males, rather than solving it in its entirety. I am not against women or minorities. In fact, I would much rather vote for Jill Stein of the Green Party, as first female President. If Hillary is elected, there will be at least 4 more years of the same 8 years of Obama's tenure in office, respectively. I will let my statement stand.
Not one person is perfect. But with the choice we are given for the 2016 Presidential election, Donald J. Trump is the better candidate for President of the United States. What have we to lose? Hillary's failures and corruption far outweigh Trump's non-existent track record as a politician. A real American economy does not guarantee success, as Hillary's does. The risk for failure that comes with success is the true free-market American economy, and Trump has proven that. At a time when the world is preparing for conflict, the last thing America needs is the policy of appeasement, which will not only hurt our best interest, but our allies as well. Trump, as President-elect, will inspire the military, economic and civil aspects of America to put forth their best effort for future prosperity; and, I do not think Hillary will achieve this. In fact, I think a continuation of the current policy in Washington, D.C. will only exacerbate the issues we as a nation are struggling with. Unfortunately, I regretfully assume that Hillary Clinton will be the next President of the United States.
